Empty Hands - The Art of Sleeping

Brisbane band The Art of Sleeping have been shooting up in popularity these last couple of months. The well loved locals have become something of a sensation right now due to plenty of plays on Triple J, along with the attention this stunning video clip has garnered over the past weeks. 

“Love me like a heartbeat, with your long hair and your cold feet.” Those are some mighty fine lyrics, delivered from front man Caleb with much gusto and strength. The chorus is catchy and clever, and sure, this band might start receiving some comparisons to Boy & Bear, but they’ve got something that is their own.

The drum beat and reverb soaked guitar drive the song, with the classic vocal sound, vocal ooh’s and touches of keys all adding together to create a formula that is super special. The song doesn’t try anything too showy, instead building upon a solid song that cannot be faulted. It’s a good tune, a rocking one, and one that will certainly go down at their live shows.

Their recent Brisbane gigs have reportedly gone off, and you can check them out soon when The Art of Sleeping boys support Owl Eyes in May. Show them some love.
